The Froonze Loyalty Checkout Extension helps Shopify merchants on the Shopify Plus plan to offer a more streamlined customer loyalty experience right on the Shopify Checkout page. By adding our Loyalty Checkout Extension to your Shopify store, you can give your customers a convenient way to view their point balances, apply existing loyalty discount codes, and redeem points right before completing their purchase.
This article provides an overview of our Loyalty Checkout Extension, emphasising how this feature works from both merchants' and customers' perspectives. The setup process is intuitive, and the widget takes almost no time to configure.
The Froonze Loyalty Checkout Extension is available on our Loyalty Unlimited plan for $60/month. Furthermore, only Shopify Plus merchants can use it due to limitations imposed entirely by Shopify. Essentially, Shopify allows only Shopify Plus merchants to modify their checkout page and add widgets to it.
Configure the Loyalty Checkout Extension
You can enable and configure the Loyalty Checkout Extension from our app dashboard.
- Navigate to our app’s Loyalty ➜ Installation ➜ Checkout widget tab.
- Access the Shopify Checkout & Accounts Editor mode.
- Find the Checkout widget block under [All] Apps.
- Press the Plus (+) button and the Add to Checkout option.
- Reposition the Checkout widget in a visible spot, such as the Order Summary section.
- Press Save to propagate changes to your store.
If you’re also using Shop Pay, you’ll need to ensure that our Loyalty Checkout Extension is enabled on Shop Pay Checkout.
- Navigate to our app’s Loyalty ➜ Installation ➜ Checkout widget tab.
- Access the Shopify Checkout & Accounts Editor mode.
- Find the Checkout widget block under [Added] Apps.
- Press the Checkout widget to bring up the settings panel.
- Toggle the Include block in Shop Pay under the Checkout behavior option.
- Press Save to propagate changes to your store.

What should I do if the widget does not appear in the Checkout page?
If the Froonze Loyalty Checkout Extension is not visible on your Shopify store’s checkout page, you should ensure that customers have at least some loyalty points in their balance, at least a loyalty discount code available, and/or that you have enabled at least a spending rule. Also, double-check if the customers are using Shop Pay checkout or regular checkout. You can enable the addition to Shop Pay checkout from the widget’s settings in the Checkout editor. Otherwise, the widget will not be displayed.
Are there any known compatibility issues with other apps or themes?
Our Froonze Loyalty Checkout Extension is compatible with most modern and up-to-date Shopify themes. Please note that the widget will only work inside the Shopify Customer Accounts default checkout page. Attempting to add it anywhere else or to integrate it into other marketing, loyalty or discount apps or tools will not work.
Can I use the widget if I am not a Shopify Plus merchant or if I downgrade my Shopify Plan?
No. The widget is available only to Shopify Plus merchants due to restrictions imposed by Shopify. If you downgrade your store’s plan from Shopify Plus, our widget will stop working.
If I switch from another loyalty solution, is there a migration path or support for importing existing customer points?
We offer an importing functionality for points. It can be accessed from our app’s Loyalty → Import & Export tab. However, our support team can assist with importing the customer point balances from the other loyalty app into Froonze.
